Our Doctors

Dr. Pryor, DVM

Owner & Veterinarian

Dr. Ivan Pryor grew up in Colorado and received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Colorado in 1995. He then received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2000 and became owner of Dillsburg Veterinary Center in 2005! Ever since he was a child, Dr. Pryor knew he wanted to take care of animals.

Dr. Pryor and his wife Sharon have been married over 20 years. They are proud parents of their two daughters, Lauren, and Emma. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, restoring classic Ford Broncos and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dr. Amber, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Amber was born and raised in York County, Pennsylvania and graduated from Northeastern High School in 1997. She attended West Virginia Wesleyan College from 1998-2001 and received BA majors in Dramatic Arts/Communication and Chemistry, with minors in Human Biology and Music. She had many interests during that time, and it wasn’t until the end of her sophomore year that she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. She then continued to Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine from 2001-2005. She worked in Red Lion, PA for her first year after graduation in a small animal practice but moved back to Alabama when she married her husband in 2006. She worked at a 24-hour emergency hospital from 2006-2013 which she loved. After a few personal life changes, her and her husband decided to move back to Pennsylvania. She has been working at DVC since 2014. She has three children, Paisley, Tucker, and Cedar, who always keep her on her toes and remind her the importance of the little things. She currently has a chihuahua mix named Raya and two cats named Penny & Purrcy!

Dr. Hlatky, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Lesley Hlatky was raised on a small horse farm in California where she quickly established a passion for animal care. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pre-Vet Med from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ohio State University. She has lived in Dillsburg since 2001 with her husband Greg. They have two children, Aiden and Dannielle, a poodle Warren, a housecat Josie and three horses, Arlo, Brody, and Cecil. Dr. Hlatky and her daughter are actively competitive jumping their horses. Greg and Aiden enjoy golf, fishing, hunting, and baseball. When not at work, Dr. Hlatky can be found at all the above-listed sporting events, usually dressed in her riding clothes, and covered in dirt.

Dr. Ciaravella-Schwalb, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Ciaravella-Schwalb (Dr. C.) grew up in Ellicott City, Maryland where she first discovered her love of animals. After taking a detour in life, she started working in the veterinary field in 1995, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Western Maryland College, then graduated Cum Laude from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. C. is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, & the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society. In addition to working part-time at Dillsburg Veterinary Center, Dr. C. also works part-time at Shores Veterinary Emergency Center in Harrisburg.

She & her husband live in Carlisle & share their home with 4 amazing cats, Ziva, McGee, Angelo, & Dax (upstairs) as well as her mother & 2 more wonderful cats, Frankie & Ella (downstairs). In her spare time, Dr. C. enjoys cooking, reading murder mysteries, listening to all kinds of music, traveling with her husband, art, creative writing, & spending quality time with family & friends for which she feels blessed to have in her life.
